Support Literacy with READ to RISE

As part of your SASA 2025 Congress registration, we invite you to support READ to RISE, a non-profit organisation dedicated to promoting youth literacy in under-resourced communities across South Africa.

READ to RISE firmly believes that children need to read in order to rise—both in their personal development and in their contributions to society. By fostering a love for reading, we help children excel in school and become constructive members of their communities.

With your donation, you will be helping to create a nation of inspired readers, giving children the opportunity to develop a lifelong passion for books and learning.

There are multiple ways you can support this initiative:

Donate a cash amount when registering for the conference.
Bring a pre-loved children's book (ages 3 to 10) to the SASA conference and donate it to READ to RISE for the children’s libraries they create for schools.
Visit the READ to RISE stand at the conference to purchase a book for your own child or a loved one.

READ to RISE is a registered Section 18A Public Benefit Organisation, which means that all donations are tax-deductible in South Africa.
