Information we collect:
The ASLM only collects personal information about you when you specifically and knowingly provide it. We collect this information on our website during membership registration or on joining our mailing list. Specifically, you will therefore be requested to submit the following information on registration: name, address, telephone number, email address, username, password, credit card information for paid membership only, and your CV when submitting details to the consultant database.
How we use information we collect:
The ASLM uses the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services. When you contact ASLM, we may keep a record of your communication to help solve issues. We may use your email address to inform you about our services, such as letting you know about upcoming changes or improvements.
We use information collected from cookies and other technologies (which are small pieces of data stored for an extended period on your computer, mobile phone, or other device) to improve your user experience and the overall quality of our services. The ASLM will ask for your consent before using information for a purpose other than those set out in this policy. Please note we may process your personal information on servers in many countries around the world, including those that outside the country where you live.
Information you share:
The ASLM website lets you to share information with others. Remember that when you share information publicly, it may be indexable by search engines.
Accessing and updating your information:
Whenever you use the ASLM website services, we strive to provide you with access to your personal information. If that information is incorrect, there are ways to update or delete it, unless we must keep that information for legitimate business or legal purposes. When updating your personal information, you may be asked to verify your identity. The ASLM may reject requests that are unreasonably repetitive, require disproportionate or impractical technical effort, or violate the privacy of others. Where we can provide information access and correction, we will do so at no cost except when impractical. We pledge to maintain the ASLM website services in a manner that protects information from accidental, or malicious, release or destruction.
Information we share:
We do not share personal information with companies, organizations and individuals outside of the ASLM unless one of the following situations are applicable: with your consent; with domain administrators; for external processing; or for legal purposes.
Information security:
The ASLM aims to protect the organization and its members/users from unauthorized access and unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information held. We accomplish this through utilizing encryption methods and identity verifications. Information held by the ASLM is restricted to employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us; they are subject to strict confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations.
Application:
This policy applies to all of the services offered by the ASLM and/or its affiliates, but does not apply to services offered by other companies or individuals, including advertisements.
Enforcement:
The ASLM regularly reviews our compliance with this Terms of Reference/Privacy Policy. When we receive formal written complaints, we will reply to the person making the complaint.
Changes:
This policy may change from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and, if the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice (including, if appropriate, email notification of changes). We maintain prior versions of this policy in an archive for your review.
