GRANTS AND BEST ABSTRACT AWARDS


The Asian-Pacific Society for Digestive Endoscopy (A-PSDE) Grants

Number of grants: Up to 26 grants (up to two grants for abstracts from each of the following countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Bhutan, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Thailand)

Amount: USD 1,000 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Eligibility: Authors of top-ranked abstracts from the countries listed above aged 45 years or younger.

Process: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by the Abstract Reviewing Committee. Abstracts ranked as accepted by authors from the countries mentioned above (excluding the WEO awardees) will be forwarded to A-PSDE for final selection. Awardees will receive written confirmation from A-PSDE and will be invited to a special ceremony during ENDO 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, to receive the grants.

American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Grants

Number of grants: 3

Amount: USD 1,000 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Eligibility: Authors of top-ranked abstracts that are members of ASGE (no age limit)

Process: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by the WEO Abstract Reviewing Committee. Abstracts ranked as accepted by authors that are ASGE members (excluding the WEO awardees) will be forwarded to ASGE for final selection. Awardees will receive written confirmation from ASGE and will be invited to a special ceremony during ENDO 2026 in South Africa to receive the grants.

European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE) Grants

Number of grants: 2

Amount: EUR 1,500 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Eligibility: Authors of top-ranked abstracts, aged 40 years and younger, and members of ESGE

Process: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by the Abstract Reviewing Committee. Abstracts ranked as accepted by authors from Europe (excluding the WEO awardees) will be forwarded to ESGE for final selection. Awardees will receive written confirmation from ESGE and will be invited to a special ceremony during ENDO 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, to receive the grants.

Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) Grants

Number of grants: 5

Amount: JPY 100,000 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Eligibility: Authors of top-ranked abstracts from Japan, aged 45 years and younger, and members of JGES

Process: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by the Abstract Reviewing Committee. Abstracts ranked as accepted by authors from Japan (excluding the WEO awardees) will be forwarded to JGES for final selection. Awardees will receive written confirmation from JGES and will be invited to a special ceremony during ENDO 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, to receive the grants.

Korean Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (KSGE) Grants

Number of grants: 8

Amount: USD 500 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Eligibility: Authors of top-ranked abstracts from Korean doctors aged 40 years or younger

Process: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by the Abstract Reviewing Committee. Abstracts ranked as accepted by authors from Korea (excluding the WEO awardees) will be forwarded to KSGE for final selection. Awardees will receive written confirmation from KSGE and will be invited to a special ceremony during ENDO 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, to receive the grants.

South African Gastroenterology Society (SAGES) Grants

Number of grants: 5

Amount: ZAR 6,000 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Eligibility:
 

  • A fellow in training at a South African academic unit
  • Submission of an abstract
  • A SAGES member with up-to-date membership subscription
  • Full sponsorship not received / part sponsorship acceptable

Process: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by the Abstract Reviewing Committee. Awardees will receive written confirmation from SAGES (excluding the WEO awardees) and will be invited to a special ceremony during ENDO 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, to receive the grants.

World Endoscopy Organization (WEO) Grants

Category 1: Distinguished Abstracts Award Grant I

Number of grants: 3

Amount: USD 1,200 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Three distinguished abstracts will be assigned the following awards: 

  • Anthony Axon Distinguished Abstract Award
  • Glaciomar Machado Distinguished Abstract Award
  • Hirohumi Niwa Distinguished Abstract Award

Category 2: Best Abstract Award Grant II

Number of grants: 5

Amount: USD 1,000 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Category 3: Best Abstract Award Grant III

Number of grants: 15

Amount: 
USD 500 each

Other benefits: Congress registration fee waived

Eligibility: Authors of top-ranked abstracts, aged 45 years and younger

Process: All submitted abstracts will be reviewed and ranked by the Abstract Reviewing Committee. Awardees will receive written confirmation from WEO and will be invited to a special ceremony during ENDO 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, to receive the grants.

The three distinguished abstract awardees under Grant I will be invited to present their abstract as an oral presentation at the ENDO 2026 Opening Symposium on the first day of the congress, Thursday, 24 September 2026.
